Khadam ("we", "us", "our") operates the website https://www.khadam.xyz and the Khadam mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our services.
Khadam is an Algerian platform that connects homeowners and individuals with local artisans (plumbers, electricians, builders, painters, etc.).
2. Data We Collect
- Phone number (for authentication)
- Geographic location (only when submitting a service request)
- Service request description and optional photos
- Full name and phone number
- Wilaya (province) and commune of operation
- Trade type and years of experience
- National ID document (for KYC verification only)
- Geographic location (for proximity matching)
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Match clients with nearby qualified artisans
- Verify artisan identity (KYC process)
- Send mission notifications to artisans via WhatsApp
- Allow artisans to manage their missions and profile
- Improve service quality through anonymized analytics
We never sell your data to third parties.
4. WhatsApp Messaging
Khadam uses the WhatsApp Business API (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to send transactional notifications to registered artisans. These notifications are sent exclusively to:
- Artisans who have registered on the platform and provided their WhatsApp number
- Notify them of new mission requests matching their profile
We do not send marketing messages via WhatsApp. Artisans can opt out at any time by contacting us or deleting their account.
WhatsApp messages are governed by Meta's WhatsApp Business Solution Terms.
5. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (encrypted PostgreSQL), hosted in Europe (AWS eu-west). KYC documents are stored in a private, access-restricted storage bucket accessible only to Khadam administrators.
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, row-level security (RLS), and access controls.
6. Data Sharing
When a mission is confirmed, limited information is shared between parties:
- Clients see: artisan name, rating, and operating area
- Artisans see: service description and client's general area
- Phone numbers are shared only after mission confirmation
We use the following third-party services: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Meta WhatsApp Business API (notifications), Twilio (SMS OTP).
7. Data Retention
- Service requests: retained for 2 years after last activity
- Reviews and ratings: retained indefinitely (public data)
- KYC documents: deleted upon account closure request
- WhatsApp opt-out: processed within 48 hours
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt out of WhatsApp notifications
- Withdraw consent for data processing
